The Infamous Masterson’s , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , brands itself as a fashionable, contemporary hangout, but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I encountered behind its walls was disturbing and far below any standard .
Cleanliness Issues : Unhygienic and Disregarded
From the moment I entered , it was evident that sanitation was not a priority at Masterson’s . The floorboards were filthy, and a foul smell of old alcohol and dirty bathrooms permeated the entire establishment . Emitting a scent of a mixture of human waste, old age and a sickly smell. The counter , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and litter that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks . The toilet was in even a truly awful state—overflowing , with a broken handle and walls stained in what I can only assume was human waste .
